I think it was Erwin McManus who said: "It's not what I see, but what I imagine that gives me my clearest vision." The ability to imagine is a gift from God. To imagine and not act on it is to waste the gift.
Cemeteries are full of people who took their unfulfilled dreams with them. They imagined what could be but never acted on it. I imagine a church driven by the desire to be a church FOR the community. In other words, a church that lives out Matthew 5:16: "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
I want to live my life full of faith in what could be. It's our faith that allows us to imagine and act on it. What took faith yesterday is sight today.
